Brand / Campaign December 1 Deadline

On December 1st, 2024, the phone carriers will block unregistered texts.

Although we may still send your texts to the phone carriers (ATT, Verizon, T-Mobile) after this date, those carriers will only deliver them to their subscribers if they know the origin of the texts. They will block texts if you have not registered your details with them.

Registration with the carriers takes some effort, but once registered, you will enjoy a higher deliverability rate to your target audience.

What do you need to register?

  • A Federal EIN issued by the IRS.
  • A working website.
  • An opt-in page that collects the mobile numbers you intend to text.
  • A privacy policy stating you will not sell or rent the mobile numbers you collect.

Once these elements are in place, the registration process should be straightforward. For more detailed information, please refer to this guide.

How do I register

You will register through Vumber, and we will send your information to the Campaign Registry (TCR).

Once TCR has verified your company details, they will send your details to the phone carriers, who will review your website, opt-in page, and privacy policy for compliance. This process takes about seven days.

Once TCR and phone carriers have approved your registration, you can continue to text after December 1st.

FAQ

I am not a business - can I text after December 1st

Unfortunately, no. Phone carriers are not allowing individuals to text through feature-rich systems like Vumber. You can still use Vumber's other features, but the phone carriers will block the texts you send. You will still receive inbound texts to your numbers.

I am a business but don't have a federal EIN.

TCR uses the Federal EIN issued by the IRS to vet your business. They insist on having this, and it is currently required, even for sole proprietors.
