What it means:
This error occurs when a text campaign includes content related to lead generation, affiliate marketing, or high-risk financial services, all of which are strictly prohibited by carriers. If your campaign promotes any of these, it will be rejected.
Examples of Prohibited Content:
- Social marketing
- Collections
- Financial services for high-risk or subprime lending (e.g., credit cards, auto loans, payday loans, etc.)
- Insurance (car, health, etc.)
- Gambling, casinos, and bingo
- Gift cards, sweepstakes, and free prizes
- Investment opportunities
- Lead generation and affiliate marketing
- Recruiting and commission programs
- Credit repair and tax relief
- Illicit substances (including cannabis)
- Work-from-home schemes, get-rich-quick opportunities
- Fraud, phishing, and deceptive marketing
- SHAFT content (Sex, Hate, Alcohol, Firearms, Tobacco)
Why it matters:
Carriers implement these restrictions to protect consumers from risky, illegal, or deceptive content. Ensuring compliance with these guidelines helps maintain trust and security in text communications.
How to fix it:
Unfortunately, there is no remedy for campaigns involving prohibited content. You will need to remove all references to the restricted topics in your campaign to ensure compliance with carrier guidelines.
