How to Set up Your Voicemail Greeting
Setting up a personalized voicemail greeting helps you maintain professionalism and keeps you connected with your callers when you're not available to answer the phone. The Vumber app provides flexible options for setting up your voicemail greeting, including recording a new message, using text-to-speech, or uploading a pre-recorded file. Follow these steps to customize your voicemail settings.
To set up your voicemail greeting using the Vumber app, follow these steps:
- Open the Vumber app on your mobile device.
- Tap the 'Hamburger menu' icon located at the top corner of the screen.
- Select 'My Numbers' from the menu options.
- Choose the number for which you want to set up the voicemail by selecting 'Configure' next to it.
- Navigate to the 'Voicemail' option.
- Here, you can:
- Record a New Voicemail: Tap to start recording your custom message directly through the app.
- Type a Text to Speech Voicemail: Enter the text you want to be spoken in your voicemail message.
- Upload a File: Choose a pre-recorded voicemail message from your device to upload.
To set up your voicemail greeting using the Vumber dashboard, follow these steps:
- Log in to your account by visiting the Vumber Dashboard at https://app.vumber.com.
- Click on 'My Numbers' from the menu on the left.
- Select the number you wish to configure and click 'Configure' next to it.
- Navigate to the 'Voicemail' option.
- Here, you can:
- Type a Text to Speech Voicemail: Enter the text that you want to be converted into speech.
- Upload a File: Upload a pre-recorded audio file to be used as your voicemail greeting.
Please note that unlike the app, the dashboard does not support recording a new voicemail directly.
If your Vumber settings are configured to put calls straight through (without the need to press '1' to answer), and the calls are being forwarded to your native phone number, unanswered calls will be directed to your native phone's voicemail system, not your Vumber voicemail. This behavior applies only when calls are forwarded to a native phone number and does not affect calls answered through the app or web phone.
